چکیده

This work is devoted to prove the existence of weak solutions of the kinetic Vlasov—Poisson— Fokker—Planck system in bounded domains for attractive or repulsive forces. Absorbing and reflectiontype boundary conditions are considered for the kinetic equation and zero values for the potential on the boundary. The existence of weak solutions is proved for bounded and integrable initial and boundary data with finite energy. The main difficulty of this problem is to obtain an existence theory for the linear equation. This fact is analysed using a variational technique and the theory of elliptic—parabolic equations of second order. The proof of existence for the initial—boundary value problems is carried out following a procedure of regularization and linearization of the problem. ( 1998 B. G. Kinetic Equations with Maxwell Boundary Condition

We prove global stability results of DiPerna-Lions renormalized solutions to the initial boundary value problem for kinetic equations. The (possibly nonlinear) boundary conditions are completely or partially diffuse, which include the so-called Maxwell boundary condition, and we prove that it is realized (it is not relaxed!). The techniques are illustrated with the Fokker-Planck-Boltzmann equat...

Diffusion Limit of the Vlasov-poisson-fokker-planck System

Abstract. We study the diffusion limit of the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck System. Here, we generalize the local in time results and the two dimensional results of Poupaud-Soler [F. Poupaud and J. Soler, Math. Models Methods Appl. Sci., 10(7), 1027-1045, 2000] and Goudon [T. Goudon, Math. Models Methods Appl. Sci., 15(5), 737-752, 2005] to the case of several space dimensions. Renormalization t...

Kinetic equations with Maxwell boundary conditions

We prove global stability results of DiPerna-Lions renormalized solutions for the initial boundary value problem associated to some kinetic equations, from which existence results classically follow. The (possibly nonlinear) boundary conditions are completely or partially diffuse, which includes the so-called Maxwell boundary conditions, and we prove that it is realized (it is not only a bounda...

Asymptotic Behavior of an Initial-Boundary Value Problem for the Vlasov-Poisson-Fokker-Planck System

The asymptotic behavior for the Vlasov–Poisson–Fokker–Planck system in bounded domains is analyzed in this paper. Boundary conditions defined by a scattering kernel are considered. It is proven that the distribution of particles tends for large time to a Maxwellian determined by the solution of the Poisson–Boltzmann equation with Dirichlet boundary condition. In the proof of the main result, th...

Global weak solutions for a Vlasov-Fokker-Planck/Navier-Stokes system of equations

We establish the existence of a weak solutions for a coupled system of kinetic and fluid equations. More precisely, we consider a Vlasov-FokkerPlanck equation coupled to compressible Navier-Stokes equation via a drag force. The fluid is assumed to be barotropic with γ-pressure law (γ > 3/2). The existence of weak solutions is proved in a bounded domain of R with homogeneous Dirichlet conditions...
